$629,000 Credit Limit Challenge
Posted by Scott on 27th March, 2008 | 26 commentsThis came as a big surprise and made me laugh. I logged in to check the balance on one of my company credit cards and saw that my credit limit had increased from something like $40k to this:
I guess they have a lot of faith in my ability to pay off their card (I do pay it off in full every month after all) but I had no idea that my company’s credit was so good. I might disappoint them though, as I won’t come anywhere near that limit any time soon :).
Any other bloggers out there want to challenge this for bragging rights? Shoe? Chow?

So Scott you are flipping the bill to take us all to Maui for a week right?
Ha that would be the credit card company footing the bill, unless you’re offering to pay it off when the statement comes in :).
Unfortunately I don’t think I make enough money to cover that bill, at least not yet anyways.
Perhaps they meant $62,900? That is pretty unreal. I could just see you going up to a real estate agent and saying, here, I would like to put this house on my master card, thanks.
Incredible. Well, reputable businesses are reputable for a reason. Enjoy every bit of it!!!
So I checked the account online again today and the limit was “only” $69,000. I called to check and the guy I spoke with said there was a glitch yesterday - still, I’m happy with a $69k limit
You should have jumped on it. That is a crazy glitch, I wonder if you could have put a few lambos on the card…
lol, Oohhh shoemoney, hes calling you out! Are you going to say anything in your defence?
Send them an email or something. See what they have to say about it.
i dont think shoe or chow maybe combined don’t have this much credit limit on one of their credit card.
Maui sounds nice!! Or if you want you can take some of my debts. haha. But thats pretty amazing!

Wow! What a limit.
I started with a $20,000 limit on my business credit card a few years ago. My business has really grown and everytime I have needed more room, I’ve been able to get it increased with no problem. My current limit is $75,000.
I pay my balance in full every month like you. Most months, I charge $50K - 60K. Since I never carry a balance, I don’t pay any interest. Here is the sweet part.
My card pays 1% back on every purchase I make. Each month I get a check for $500 - $600. I’ve been passing the checks to my 6 year old for her college savings. So far she has 5 figures and growing.
Anyone that wants to know can email me and I’ll get you the card company name.
Good Post and Cool Credit Limit!

I wish I had a daddy like you!
I wouldn’t have been paying off my student loans for the last 8 years!
Do remember it doesn’t do anyone any harm to earn their own money - don’t spoil them too much!
holy cow!!! i wouldn’t feel safe with a credit that big!!! i think i would hide CC in a bank lol
If people had credit lines that big, this country would have collapsed.

Too bad that glitch didn’t stay there.
I’ll take 2 #1’s large cokes, and 1 62in LCD TV sent to my house please.
Is this just another example of the US credit crunch we keep hereing on this side of the pond???!!
No wonder there is so much bad debt around if they lend that much!
Wow! I have never had that kind of error. Usually just the opposite. I think that statement would definitely put me in my seat.
Now this is what I am talking about …This is pretty cool.
I have just came across your blog, this post catch my eye, big time! I know if they made a glitch like that on my card I would have expand my business to make more money. The credit company wouldn’t mind keeping my limit that high.
